    Stair Recaps
One of the specialties of Campbell's Woodcraft is transforming a carpeted stair into a hardwood stair. We use solid hardwood treads, complete with returns to hide the end grain. Several companies claim to do recaps and refacing, but often use hardwood flooring on the stair resulting in a stair that looks like it's been covered with hardwood, instead of it looking like a hardwood stair. When we finish recaping a stair, you would never know it wasn't a hardwood stair.

We are recommended for recaps by businesses all around the city. This is a testament to the consistency of our quality craftmanship. You may find someone to recap your stair for less, but you'll never find someone who can do it better.

Recaps & Railings
Whether you'd like to reuse your existing railing, or install a brand new one, we can help you find the solution that fits your style and budget.

Cost
We are often asked to ballpark pricing for stair recaps. This is an extremely difficult thing to do since the stair shape and dimensions can greatly influence the price of the job. As a general rule of thumb, we tell clients to expect to pay $250-$300 per step for an oak recap and $300-$350 per step for a maple recap. This will give you an idea of the cost, but the only way to get a true gauge of the cost is to contact us and schedule an appointment for us to measure the stair and provide a quote. Of course, we provide this service free of charge.
